The MCH Group is a leading international group of companies specialised in live marketing. With its activities in the three business fields of MCH Exhibitions, MCH Infrastructure and MCH Event Services, it is able to offer its customers a unique network of services in the entire exhibition and event market. It creates first-class marketing platforms in the form of internationally and nationally leading exhibitions and offers bespoke solutions for successful participation in these exhibitions. In addition, the MCH Group provides a range of services for large numbers of corporate and public events all over the globe.
As of 1 January 2010, the MCH Group has included MCH Swiss Exhibition (Basel) Ltd. with its subsidiary Exhibit & More AG in Fällanden and its holdings in Design Miami Basel AG in Basel and in Design Miami II LLC in Miami/USA, MCH Swiss Exhibition (Zurich) Ltd., Rufener events Ltd. with its subsidiary Oceansalt LLC in Zurich, Expomobilia AG with its subsidiary Technofot AG in Effretikon and Winkler Veranstaltungstechnik AG in Wohlen. In 2010, the MCH Group Ltd. acquired the majority holding of the shares of Beaulieu Exploitation SA – the company that operates the exhibition and congress site in Lausanne.
With its three business fields, the MCH Group is active in all the different segments of the event market, furnishing the expertise required at all the individual process stages.
- MCH Exhibitions: The Group’s exhibition portfolio takes in some 40 exhibitions organised and run by the MCH Group’s exhibition companies (including Exhibit & More AG and Beaulieu Exploitation SA). These include BASELWORLD – the world watch and jewellery show – plus the internationally leading art shows of Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach. In addition to the watch/jewellery and art/design sectors, the MCH Group also designs and implements marketing and communication platforms for additional sectors, including architecture and construction, the hotel and catering industries, initial and further training, logistics and packaging, gardens and lifestyle, technology, automation and chemistry.
- MCH Infrastructure: The MCH Group’s infrastructure comprises Messe Basel (gross exhibition area 162,000 m2), the Congress Center Basel and the Musical Theater Basel, as well as Messe Zürich (gross exhibition area 30,000 m2) and the Theater 11 in Zurich. The MCH Group is also responsible for running Beaulieu Lausanne (gross exhibition area 50,500 m2), which similarly takes in a congress centre and a theatre. As a partner in the Miami Beach Convention Center (gross exhibition area 46,500 m2), the MCH Group is additionally responsible for marketing this Center in Europe. Messe Basel, Messe Zürich and Beaulieu Lausanne constitute the main venues for the group’s own exhibitions. The exhibition infrastructure is also rented out to other exhibition organisers.
- MCH Event Services: The Event Services companies in the MCH Group provide comprehensive, top-quality services in the fields of event management (Rufener events Ltd.), stand construction and fittings (Expomobilia AG) and also technical systems for organised events (Winkler Veranstaltungstechnik AG) throughout the national and international event market. The MCH Group thus not only offers individual solutions for those wishing to participate in exhibitions – irrespective of the organiser and the venue – but also provides customized services for other corporate and public events.
The MCH Group has its roots in the "Schweizer Mustermesse" which was established in 1916 and later gave rise to the “Messe Basel” (Basel Exhibition) which, in 2001, merged with the “Messe Zürich” (Zurich Exhibition), founded in 1945.
On 1 January 2010, the MCH Group had around 520 employees on permanent contracts. In 2008 and 2009, the group recorded sales of CHF 308 million on average, with a group profit that averaged CHF 23 million.The MCH Group Ltd. is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (Domestic Standard).
